Our Name
The bluebird, a denizen of prairie and pasture, is disappearing from most farms in the corn belt which now devote their land to endless rotations of corn and soy.
Once we had established our pastures and put up fences for them to perch upon, the bluebirds arrived at our farm, and now remain year-round. We enjoy seeing them and like the fact that our farm now provides a home for many bluebird families.
The property
Our farm consists of 60 acres in southwest Michigan, near the town of Three Rivers. We've got a mix of pasture, hayfield, orchard, forest, and marsh. We host a wide variety of wildlife such as deer, turkeys, sandhill cranes, ducks, muskrats, turtles, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, groundhogs, and many more species.
